Talk:Elle

My question was about how I should interpret this sentence "She will, however, in a pinch, eat leafy vegetation because she knows it's good for her digestive tract."

This is hard to parse mentally, because it talks about her eating vegetation only when desperate, but then goes on to say that she eats vegetation because it is good for her. This seems to be a fusion of two sentences, and gives off two different feelings: you wouldn't care if something was good for you instead of merely edible if you were desperate for food. Because of this I rewrote the sentence to say that she eats vegetable matter if she has to, and doesn't complain about it because she knows it's good for her. I inserted "she doesn't complain" to allow me to express the idea (which is what I assumed you wanted to say) that "Elle doesn't like eating vegetation, even though it's good for her. Elle prefers to eat humans/catgirls/etc, which are also good for her. If Elle is going hungry and can't find humans/catgirls/etc, she will eat vegetation."

A way to make the original sentence work would be something like this "In a pinch she will eat leafy vegetation because she knows it's better for her digestive tract than eating rocks and dirt to quell the hunger pains." But as you can see, there's a good reason I didn't do that. :)

So, all of this is just a really long winded way for me to ask: When does Elle eat plants? I believe that the original intent is "Elle will eat plants (which are good for her digestive tract) only when she can't find people to eat.

"By the way how do you do this red exclamation mark?"

What red exclamation mark? I don't see any red exclamation marks anywhere on Elle's page. (I did a quick google search and it seems that the wiki software uses some red icons in some places, maybe that's it? Are the red icons appearing next to edits not done by you, and if so is it just next to my edits or is it also next to the edits of people like Wowandwas?) --Oldman40k2003 15:28, 14 November 2007 (PST)

I see your point for Elle... Well I mistaken "in a pinch" for "sometimes" or more exactly : I believed in a pinch = sometimes and was too lazy too check if it was true or not ^^;

So I see the problem. I think the " won't complain about it" works well here :)

As for the red exclamation mark, I see.. I asked because I thought I had seen editions made by other without this red mark in the mark but well ^^

Also I wanted to say : when you edit pages concerning locations, please don't hesitate to add adjectives, and descriptions of your own to set an atmosphear.. I know mine are really lacking in this domain ^^

Don't worry, I'll add to the descriptions, assuming I actually have something interesting to add. :) --Oldman40k2003 23:57, 15 November 2007 (PST)
