As a giant naga, Scala towers at a height of 69 feet. She has the upper body of a beautiful twenty-one year old human female, and a 300 foot serpent-like tail starting at her hips. On her tail are bands of brown and orange that go all the way down, similar to a Copperhead's. She has long fiery red hair and shimmering green eyes that give a look of curiosity and wonder. Scala is a polite, caring and kind naga, always willing to make new friends. She's domesticated and civil, with a mindset and behavior that looks a lot that of a human, having been raised among them. While certain predators in Felarya may come to feel sympathetic towards humans, Scala is outright amicable with them, provided they’re not bandits or slavers out to harm her familly.

Being a Fire Naga however, Scala has a bit of a temper and can get very angry, very quickly. She sometimes takes criticisms the wrong way and might become infuriated at jokes directed at her. But once she gets to know someone well enough, Scala's hotheadedness won't be as quick to ignite. When she’s angered, there’s usually a slight smell of sulphur in the air. She also has developed a deep distrust towards dridders in general, after her horrific encounter with the dridder Archon. She's trying to overcome this attitude, but it just won't go away completely. It doesn’t help that her husband seems to harbor prejudice towards them himself.

[edit] Backstory

Scala was lucky to escape the nightmare of being born alone in Felarya. Her egg was lost to her parents, but she hatched to the unsuspecting human couple Remmy and Jessie, who took her as their own daughter and gave her a lot of love and affection. Scala grew up normally for the next few years safely in the confines of her parents' village, making friends and learning to hone her inherited skill in pyromancy under the watchful eye of her father. Scala’s early years were marked with great happiness, frolicking beneath the towering trees, surrounded by those she loved.

That happiness ended abruptly one day however, when the dridder Archon came to the village, in pursuit of a fairy named Sylph. They were both fighting for an artefact of great power, and Scala found herself involved in a dangerous and merciless battle. At a point, while trying to defend everything she held dear, Scala lost control and, because of the enormous power of the artefact, burnt everything to ashes; Archon, the village, her familly... The pain of the guilt was unbearable for the poor Scala, and the fairy Sylph decided to rearrange her memories. Scala would grow up believing Archon was the one who had annihilated her home, along with the mystical talisman. The fairy then adopted her and they moved to the ruins of Ur-Sagol.

Years rolled by, with Scala growing, and Sylph teaching her adopted daughter the finer points of pyromancy and to embrace her predatory instincts, actively working to transform her into a hunter to be reckoned with. Scala could never quite bring herself to eat humans though, even at Sylph's urgings, her human upbringing making her see them as people, not food. This didn't stop her however, from eating brigands who got the bad idea to threaten those she holds dear. But driven by an inner desire to protect the weak and innocent, Scala vowed she would only eat people that truly deserved it. Once fully grown and matured, Scala parted ways with Sylph. Though she’d always have a place in her heart for her adopted fairy “mother,” her instinct drove her to strike out and make her own way in Felarya. To this day, she lives a peaceful and happy life with her many friends and her beloved Michael, a human soldier from the Red back commandos.

Scala is a Fire Naga, master of the flame and heat. Her entire body is resilient to just about any source of heat and there are few things that drive her to her limits. She has memorized a range of spells that are at her finger tips, waiting to be unleashed on her foe. From hurling the basic fireball to breathing fire like a dragon, Scala is definitely a force to be reckoned with in battle.
