Crimson Maidens are an isolationist tribe of fairies residing in the Crimson woods, north of the Jungle of perils. They are extremely powerful magic users in general, and their mastery of fire magic makes them even more powerful with regards to fire based magics. Typically tall and thin, most members of the tribe have red or pink hair and bright red eyes and are, for the most part, female. Indeed, a large portion of the male population perished in the last war they waged. They have not yet recovered from this gender imbalance, so currently their society is matriarchal in structure.

Crimson maidens are organized around their leader Alsherala and fiercely defend their domain against any intruders. They are rarely seen outside of their borders and take little interest in affairs outside their wood. They are a highly militaristic society though, and in the face of a serious danger, they will assemble their dreaded Fire Legions and march to battle. According to the tales, every time they have done so, their enemies have run in terror after facing them in combat. Survivors could only speak of horrible monsters who could turn things to ash with a touch and whose gaze melted everything it rested upon. Unlike most fairies, Crimson Maiden warriors wear armor in battle, usually metallic breastplates and greaves, which deflect magical attacks and amplify their already deadly fire abilities. Crimson maidens are, by far, the most dangerous species of fairy you could encounter anywhere in Felarya. Fortunately they rarely venture outside of their domain except for young tribe members who are on their proving quest.
