There is several sort of dryads in Felarya but they all share the same particularity : they are half plant, half woman.

Their size is variable but some can easily go past the 100 feet tall. In very deep region of Felarya, some are rumored to reach even greater heights. They generally have a trunk in place of legs so they spend most of the time in the same place. They can actually un-root and move but that happens rarely and the process is very slow. Some dryads have legs though and can roam freely.

Dryads shares a sort of spiritual link between them, meaning they can communicate at distance, share sensations ( sight, smell, hearing and.. taste ) and be informed on many things that happens in the forest. A dryad can also shut down this chanel if she wish some time alone. One time in her life, a dryad can share this link with another being, no matter the race. However the gifted being would be linked to this Dryad alone, and not to others.

Dryads pose a serious threath to adventurers. they are voracious, carnivorous and their arms hold an enormous strength that could break apart a vehicle like a nut shell.

Despite their look, dryads are limber and agile and can bend, making their capture range a lot bigger than it look at first.

They are also expert at mimetism and camouflage. Some even use magic illusions to improve it. Even if you *know* there is a dryad there, if she wish to remain hidden you will have a hard time to distinguish her. They capture their preys by staying perfectly still and quickly snatching it unaware when it is close enough.

If nagas are known to have strong stomachs, then dryads are known for their iressistible throats. They can swallow anything the right size. It's a one way road though, and a dryad is unable to throw up anything she has swallowed.

The saliva of dryads have some special properties. Depending on what the dryad wants, it can either heal a creature coated in it, make it numb for several minutes, or make it sleepy.

Dryads are usually sweet, pleaseant and wise beings and they goes along very well with other races ( who are not prey that is ). This is especially true with fairies or giant nagas.

Their main weakness is fire. They are very afraid of it. Some would go into complete hiding when confronted to such threath, however some such as Drayla have founds some good defense against it.
