A large sea situated to the north-western edge of the main Felaryan continent. The Shimmering Sea was aptly named for upon looking upon the surface of this large body of water one is treated to the sight of some of the bluest waters in Felarya. From the gentle waves lapping at the white shell sand beaches of the Myrodia coast, to the frigid and freezing shores of the Imoreith Tundra, to the fierce crashing waves upon dangerous coral reefs close to Iracal Island, the water will always retain its pristine blue color. However the greatest reason for the naming of the Shimmering Sea are those majestic crystal formations emerging here and there from the water, shimmering in the light, almost blinding for the onlooker at certain times.
Those crystal are ranging anywhere from a few feet high above the surface, to truly grand size, forming gleaming columns towering at a few hundreds feet tall for the most gigantic of them. In most case, the largest part of the formation is actually often situated below the surface, and sometimes just below it, creating a great danger for boats. Some small cristal-encrusted floating islands also dot the waters, making navigation in the shimmering sea a dangerous business, only fit for veteran sailors who know their way through the treacherous waters, or for extra-resistant ships. A lot of wrecks of broken vessels lies in the ocean floor or around the cristal formations, making for some interesting treasure hunts or lures to bigger predators. For some reasons, the broken fragments of a hull or a mast start to grow cristals on them over time, becoming unrecognizable for the most ancient of them.
The giant predators living within the waters of the Shimmering Sea are not too far off from their cousins in the Topazial Sea but when you put a Mermaid from the Shimmering Sea next to a Mermaid from the Topazial sea you will notice that due to how much cooler the water's of the Shimmering Sea are they are built a little more heavily. Another peculiarity to some of the smaller species of fish is that they are unable to live within the waters of the Topazial Sea. This was proven when a mage decided to take a school of trout from the Shimmering Sea and placed them within the waters of the Topazial Sea. After about only thirty minutes, the fish would seem to die for some unknown reason. However when they were placed into a simple tank on display with inland water they lived just fine. The reason for this is as of yet unknown and there are a few still trying to figure that out while others simply don't trouble themselves with the issue.
very large Cristaline formations emerging from the seabed and forming islands of cristal or columns - floating cristal-encrusted islands Presence of Eidolons rocks.
