After doing a bit of reading it seems that most "marco-bats" (large bats like the ones that eat fruit) and the bats that operate during the day have good eyesight, but "micro-bats" (like the common brown bat?) can't see as well.  I wouldn't change the sentence as it gets the point across. :)<br>

"blazing hair", is their hair on fire, or is it a particular color? I changed it to "blazing red hair" for the moment.
"lustering" is an extremely odd word (I've never heard it used before) but I don't know of a good replacement yet so I left it.
